Lawmakers are trying to silence citizens by monopolizing amendments

“All political power is inherent in the people.”

These words — so prominently positioned in Article I, Section 1 of Florida’s Constitution — firmly and unmistakably establish that all subsequent articles, sections and statutes should strengthen the rights and powers of the people, not undermine them. Those who wrote our constitution, and the voters who approved it, considered this the fundamental principle by which Florida should be governed.
